Reno Behavioral Healthcare Hospital Launches Mental Health Treatment for Adolescents

Reno Behavioral Healthcare Hospital recently launched its Adolescent Unit providing treatment for adolescents ages 12-17. The 21-bed unit provides treatment and stabilization for adolescents struggling with problems such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, psychosis, schizophrenia and suicidal thoughts.

Adolescents receive care in a structured environment that encourages rapid recovery and a return to the community for follow-up care as needed. Patients are monitored 24 hours-a-day and always hospitalized separately from adults. Over the next few months, the hospital plans to launch substance abuse treatment and outpatient programs for adolescents as well as inpatient and outpatient services for children.
