Reno Behavioral Healthcare Hospital Celebrates One Year of Service to Community
Reno Behavioral Healthcare Hospital recently celebrated its first year of serving the community. The modern, state-of-the-art facility provides comprehensive programs for adults and adolescents with mental illness and/or Substance Use Disorder.
The hospital opened last year and is the first hospital of its kind in this community in 35 years.
Nevada has historically struggled addressing mental health and unfortunately ranks last in the United States. Nevada also ranks 47th in access to mental health care. Over the past year, Reno Behavioral Healthcare Hospital has provided needed care for 2,500 patients, many of whom would have otherwise gone untreated.
The hospital hosted a celebration to thank the numerous community providers and elected officials who have supported the hospital and its growth over the past year. Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve was on hand to proclaim May 21st Reno Behavioral Healthcare Hospital Day.
